Super Hero Birthday Bash

This year the theme of the boy's birthday party was Superheroes. We made it a dress up party in hopes that kids and adults would participate and dress up and we had a pretty good turnout!!

We actually originally planned to have it at a park but the weather was not cooperative and I had to change the location at the last minute. See here for more on that!

But thanks to Tess Ricketts we have tons of great pictures documenting this awesomely fun party!!! Enjoy!

Cakes by Melissa made the birthday cake below!! Unfortunately, it is about a 35 minute drive to pick up from her and on the way home the S on the front for Superman slumped down...so thankfully we were able to do a little "surgery" and repair it to look decent enough for display.

From my previous years of parties, you know I like to go all out!! I can't help it with the place cards....I have to have them! Especially when the names of the food are a given for a superhero party...just gives it an added touch of excitement!

I used the same basic colors as last year for the party so I was able to re-use the picture frames and insert the superhero pics I took of the boys.

I also was able to re-use the leftover plates and serving dishes from the prior year!! Totally unplanned to use the same colors, but definitely worked out!!

Poison Control was for a game that we played...look down for more on that!

I made the sign hanging behind the boys...and I was very pleased with the way it turned out!!

First thing we did before everyone arrived was take family pictures!! Trust me, if you don't do it first thing, it won't happen!!

The hit of the party was the Spiderman Inflatable....it was perfect for the kids and kept them busy the whole time!! We had no major injuries and lots of laughter and fun....so well worth it!

Superman and Wonderwoman threw a great party!!

So thankful for my birthday boys!!

Didn't Dani look adorable?? Love her little Robin tutu!

More "jump jump" fun!

We had stations set up with the blocks below where kids could build up the buildings and then knock them down like superheros!!! Dani and her friend Jamie were great at building them up and the kids were very quick to knock them down!!

There were lots of games to play with thanks to the Crossing for letting us have the party there last minute!! There was air hockey, foosball, pool and ping pong. These games helped entertain the adults too!

Dani and her friend Jamie were a great help during the party!!

Cade and his best friends from daycare, Robert and Nash!

Hudson and Paiton even participated in the dress up!! How adorable are they??!! I say this picture will go great in their wedding slide show one day!

Our cutest and youngest participant was sweet Adelaide as "mighty mouse"

Missing my dad because it was mother's day weekend and he had to work, but thankful that Russ and my mom were able to make the trip!!

Group shot of all the kids!

And finally it was game time!!
Superheroes vs. Villians!!

I explained to the kids that we had some villians that were going to come and try to destroy the birthday party and they had to save the day!!!!

They were ready to go....looking for the villians!!

First the villians threw "grenades" (green balloons) and the superheroes had to put them in the bag before they were able to explode!!

They did a great job disposing of the grenades!!

Next the villians threw out "Poison" on the ground (aluminum foil balls) and the superheroes had to use plastic tongs  and the poison control buckets to dispose of the poison before it seeped into the ground!!

Great job superheroes!!

Lastly the villians tried to come back one last time to steal the cake....but thanks to the loud noise makers (whistles) the superheroes saved the day once more and scared the bad guys away forever!!!

Since the superheroes did such a great job defeating the bad guys they all received superhero masks as a reward!!!

Shout out for my four youth girls for coming out on their Saturday morning to help with the Superheroes vs. Villians game!!

Next up...cake time!!

Since we asked for no presents to be brought....and no one really followed that rule....we decided to wait until we got home later that day to open the gifts and let the kids continue to play!! It was very sweet for everyone to bring gifts and the boys were grateful for them all!!

.

Thanks again to all of my helpers!! I couldn't have pulled it off without them!

A few more shots of the birthday boys and their cousins!! Love the capes!

Brooks and his best buddy from daycare....Grant!

Thanks to all of my family for helping but especially my little momma and my sister!! My mom is always my lifesaver when I take on these big undertakings!!! She helped with food prep, decorations, keeping the boys when I had to run around all day Friday to re-organize my plans. Couldn't have done it without her for sure!! And also a thanks to my mother in law for helping clean up the Crossing after the party!! She left it much better than we found it!!

Also thank you to Amusements of Denham Springs for the last minute rental of "whatever inflatable they had left" and it just happened to be Spiderman...how perfect was that??!!!

A few group shots with the friends!! Thankful for all of these peoples and their kiddos! Grateful we can all come together to celebrate specials events like these!

And lastly....THANK YOU Tess Ricketts Photography for documenting this day!!! I am a picture fanatic and love having all the details down to the place cards preserved in pictures and she did an amazing job for me!!! Such a huge relief to know that part is taken care of for me while I entertain the guests!! THANK YOU!!

Later that day when we got home the boys were able to open their gifts!

Best reaction was for the "Lone Ranger" that Brooks got!! He was so excited!

If you didn't know already, Brooks LOVES the Lone Ranger. He carried him around all day so proudly! Thanks Aunt Iris!

For requesting no presents to be brought, the boys made out pretty good!! Some of their favorites were the soccer goal from Aunt Mandie and Uncle Baine, Lone Ranger, and the transformers from Poppa and RaRa. Poppa and Rara also gave them tickets to see Disney on Ice. See here for more on that!

And lastly, Grandpere and DD got the boys their first tractor!!! Excited is an understatement!

Thank you to all who came out and celebrated Cade turning 4 and Brooks turning 3 years old!!! They had so much fun and still have not stopped talking about their party. We are thankful for so many great friends and family who love and support our little guys! We had family come in from 5 states for the weekend to celebrate and be together. That is something that we do not take lightly and we certainly hope everyone had a great time like we did!!! See here for how the fun continued after the birthday bash!

A special thanks for FBC of Zachary for helping me rearrange my party plans at the last minute and generously opening up their youth center for us!! It really worked out perfectly and we are so appreciative of the church for allowing us to use the beautiful building!!

Until next year!
