Brooks Update

Brooks=the cutest definition of TROUBLE ever!!

This sweet little man is full of energy and mischief. His attention span is about 1 minute and he is off to get into the next mess. He loves to play with cars, read books, and anything he knows he shouldn't!! Really the only way you can get him to sit still for an extended period of time is to read a book to him. He will scoot his little behind into your lap and sit there for as long as you let him!

He likes to help daddy mow the yard....

And he acts just like his daddy!! He has no fear of any situation and laughs in the face of danger.....literally!!

The boy likes to eat and is usually super messy when he does!! Usually after he takes a bite he wipes his hands in his hair....this pic is one morning after he ate grits, you can see the only real way to ensure he is clean is just give him a bath!! And when he is finished eating he rarely gives you warning because he thinks it is funny to spike his plate on the ground, causing all leftover food particles to splatter onto any surface remotely close!!

Isn't he just pure sweetness in these overalls??!!

This is his classic smile, scrunched face, LOVE IT!!

And this is his scrunchy face he gives you when he just doesn't like the situation he is in...haha!! Our caption for this picture is, "don't you take a picture of my mommy"!

As you can see right about his left eye, he fell and his his head on the stairs outside. We are working on his balance. Until then he usually has a bump or bruise somewhere on his poor little head to prove he is still unstable!! Most of the problem is he wants to be big like his brother so bad and just tries to keep up and can't quite hang!!

This picture is from two incidents in one day, the first line you see is where he fell and hit his head on the bed frame of the bunk beds. Then later that day at church he was running to catch up to Cade and fell on the concrete and got a little strawberry on top of the bruise from earlier that morning!! As Dani said..."Poor little guy". And as the ladies at church said, "Maybe we should get him a helmet!"

The child gravitates to water and is usually completely soaked before you even realize it!!

He likes "ridin dirty" (aka naked).....he pooped all over himself this night when we were outside, so as I was cleaning up the mess he jumped on the 4 wheeler in his birthday suit and took off!! He quickly realized getting stuck naked, is never fun!!

Like I said the boy loves playing in the water....Bath or no bath!!

Here he is below eating his first chicken nugget happy meal, while shopping in Wal mart!! (he had two bug bits on top of his eye, apparently he is slighty allergic to mosquitoes because every time he gets bit they swell up and turn really red)

We were having a mommy/Brooks play day, daycare said he was sick, I think he was just playing hooky to get some attention, either way I loved spending the day with this little guy! He may act like his daddy, but in the end he is a momma's boy!!

And here below we have his first time out at home....he is still biting kids at daycare and just last week re-commenced biting both Cade and I at home. The other day I decided to try time out, I was a little worried he was too young and wouldn't understand, but to my surprise it went over well (for me at least). He was so heartbroken and sat there for 2 minutes crying until I told him he could get up and of course was immediately happy and understood it was time to get out of the chair!! He hasn't bitten either of us since though...until next time!

Brooks keeps us entertained and very busy!! He is so precious and many people say to me, there is no way he is bad, he is just too cute!! They are right, he is cute, but oh yes, he is bad too!! He is all boy and we are thankful for that but I still can't help but think that he is going to be the one we are going to constantly struggle to have to keep alive!! He just seems to always get hurt no matter how close we watch him. Brooks gives us many laughs and provides us a lot of entertainment with those sweet little mean faces and his constant mischief!!

Other Fun Facts about Brooks:
-Weight: (50-75%)
-Height:
-Head: off the charts...we didn't even have to measure
-He is 23 months developmentally
-He has 13 teeth
-He can say about 25 words: mama, dada, stuck, duck, dog, Cade, uh oh, ball, bye bye, night night, sock, shoe, apple, get down, hot, out, pizza, snack, diaper, cow, fish, book, walk, juice, eye (I am sure I forgot some) but he is so smart with that big head of his :)
-He can pretty much tell you anything he wants by either shaking his head no or pointing
-He can point to his eyes, nose, mouth and toes when you ask him to
-He loves to dance anytime he hears music, he usually stomps his left foot while he dances

Cadester....

Cade Update....

He is growing up too quickly into a handsome little man..."Certified Hunk", watch out ladies!!

Cade's new found entertainment....Disney Movies!!!

He started off LOVING Nemo after we went to Disney World. Then we moved into Cars and Toy Story, thank goodness there are multiple versions of those!! I can tell you it is a nice distraction when we get home and I am making dinner, at least one of my boys stays occupied for a little while!! Now we have moved on to Beauty and the Beast, Lion King and Peter Pan (some of my personal favs!!) He likes to "fwy like Peeer Pan".....

And of course he still loves playing outside, especially with this water ship, he likes to fill it up himself with the water hose and then spray his brother with the water....

And occasionally get a nice, "refreshing" drink from the water table....

And here is what I like to call the "Josh" face, so serious....

Everytime I tell him to smile and say "Cheese" he says "Teeth" and points to his teeth...haha he is so cute!!

Not sure what he is doing here, I just thought this picture was adorable!!

Cade is checking out the new play room at our church, which is so AWESOME!!

Feeding the ducks at the pond...one of his favorite things to do!! He likes to throw bigs pieces of bread and watch the ducks fight over it....

He loves blowing bubbles, and as daddy taught him, he loves to hit the bubbles with the bat!

He is all boy....the other day Brooks and I were walking down the driveway and Cade was being way too quiet in the back yard....we went back there and found him poking his little finger into my citronella candle....you can see all his little finger holes!! BOYS!

BUT he is still and hopefully always will be my sweet little momma's boy and loves to cuddle and pick me flowers!! I love him so much...he brings so much joy into our family every day!!!!

He is talking so much now...he talks in complete sentences and is usually pretty easy to understand. He loves to sing songs, he is learning to say yes mam, yes sir, etc. He knows his manners and always says "thanks mom" anytime I bring him juice or help him with something. He likes to say "Hey watch this..." and show off anything he knows to visitors!! He is very observant and perceptive, it amazes me the things he picks up on and remembers!! It is now officially time to start watching everything we say, repeat has begun....

Happy Birthday Dani

HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY DANI!!!

Last weekend Dani was in town for a visit and so we went and picked out her birthday present a week early....

Here we go...she knows she is at the pet store but not sure what for....
The reveal of the aquarium that daddy picked out earlier that morning.....
So excited to pick out her fish....
(Brooks just wasn't sure what was going on and Cade was running around laughing at the little dog in the store)
 The selected fishy...Zingo!!

The boys checking out all of the other animals while Dani was picking out her aquarium accessories...

Filling up the tank with rocks...

Up close and personal with Zingo....isn't he pretty?!!
Filling up the tank with water....

Be free Zingo.....He loves his new home!!
The newest member of our family is Zingo!! Yep, that's right, Dani got a fish for her birthday!! We are also going to add some more fish to the aquarium but we had to let the water settle for a while, the next weekend visit we will stock it up, hopefully Zingo will be friendly!!

Dani did a great job picking out her fish and all of the accessories, complete with purple and gold rocks on the bottom for LSU!! The boys had a great time as well at the pet store looking and poking all of the animals!!

The weekend after her birthday she was back home with us so we threw her a little party and I made her favorite meal, shrimp fettuccine Alfredo, and we got her a birthday cake....

The boys enjoyed the cake too....Cade just ate the icing and Brooks devoured his.....
