Sofia Elease (Egg Baby)

Dani began her egg baby project this week.

She got assigned a "baby girl" egg. So after three tries of getting rid of the yoke inside the egg, we finally had our baby girl!! Our perfected method was poking either side with a push pin and then Dani blowing the yoke out with her mouth and those powerful lungs!

Then Momma A and Dani combined our creative minds and decorated little Sofia. Dani drew on the face, complete with a pacifier while I worked on her "bow"

We felt like she needed more coverage so we came up with this burlap skirt for her, which eventually turned into a hula skirt...b/c it just looked like one, but cute and stylish of course!
Dani picked our her name and took great care of her all week! She completed the project with an A due to no cracks, great care and good journal entries every day!!

Now let's just go on record and say this is the ONLY grand baby I better be having for a LOOOOOONG time!! Great job Dani!

Property 119

Grandpere & DD recently purchased some property about 20 minutes away from our house on the Comite River, 119 acres.

We have been spending a lot of time out there lately! Everyone has really enjoyed all the property has to offer. The plan is for this to be their retirement home but for now its the local hunting property, the private beach and the new fishing holes!!

We fished with cade poles the other day and caught a ton of fish!!

The boys love to play in the water even though it is FREEZING!!!!

I see many weekends ahead in our future that will be spent out there at the "119"! Stay tuned for the progress and fun stories to be told!

Funny Story Friday-Orange Bowling

I took Dani on her first orange bowling adventure the other night!!

Orange bowling is a little something me and my friends made up during high school. You get in a car with a sun roof, at night, on a pretty deserted road. Get the car up to about 45 mph, someone hangs out the sunroof and when you say GO they throw the orange as hard and as fast as they can. The driver puts on the brakes and you watch the orange explode into four equal pieces.

First stop, Winn Dixie to select the oranges.....

We didn't get any footage of the actual orange bowling but two of the oranges didn't work because one wasn't thrown hard enough so it just rolled the other was thrown on my hood and exploded on my windshield :/....but the one that did explode was funny!!

Next time we will get more oranges!! They thought it was pretty awesome though....one of her friends said..."I have never done anything bad Mrs. Abby!!" LOL if that is her definition of bad, I would say Dani has picked the right friends!!

Until next time!

Field Trip-Mrs. Heather's Strawberry Patch

Today Cade and I got to go on a field trip to Mrs. Heather's Strawberry Patch in Albany, LA.

We "got" to ride the school bus ALL the way there (1 hour)!! I can honestly tell you that was THE bumpiest ride of my life!!!! I almost reached for a barf bag a couple of times, but eventually got acclimated to the bumps and we were on our way!! Cade was so proud that I rode the bus with him so it was worth EVERY bit of queasiness/discomfort!!

We made silly faces and played games on the phone to stay busy...

Then we got there and received instruction for the days picking!!
(This is Cade's "girlfriend", Stella)

We got our buckets and we were off to go pick our strawberries!!!

There were about 10 fields to choose from so I let Cade decide. He chose the one closest since he was ready to get the picking done so he could go check out the playground!

He did a great job picking out the red ones...our motto was the "redder the better"!

He was the cutest little picker out there!!
Once we got our container full it was off to the playground!!

His favorite game was this water game where you pump the water out and you stick a little rubber duck in the gutter and flush it to the other side. HE LOVED THIS GAME!!! He tried to go play on other things but kept coming back to this game. I don't know what was so fascinating but I just sat and enjoyed watching him!!

I eventually pulled him away so he could try out this cool little "trampoline" jump contraption they had.

He wasn't a big fan though because there were some bigger kids that made it really hard for him to stabilize himself.

Then I tried to get him to go down the slide...but he wouldn't do it b/c it was too high. So back down the stairs he came!!

But we found the tube on the ground and he had fun in there for a while!!

Then he got to "milk" the cows!! It was just water, but it was pretty cool b/c it worked just like a real utter!!

All in all we had such a fun day!!

This was him passed out on the way home!!! You can see it got pretty hot on the ride back. But he didn't mind it one bit and sacked out in my lap!!

Thankful I get to go on field trips with them!!

Until next time!!

Dogwood Creek Day

We recently got to spend a beautiful day out at Dogwood Creek. Dani had a swim meet in Lake Charles and once that was over we headed out to DC and had a good time being in the woods, riding 4-wheelers and eating some snoballs!

My silly, little superheroes always enjoy their time with the family, being in the woods together!
