More Grandparents Loving!!

The weekend before New Years RaRa, Poppa and Bullet drove in for a visit!! 

The boys had fun showing off all their new toys they got for Christmas....

They quickly warmed up to Bullet, the dog. Brooks had no fear and loved to just roll and jump all over poor Bullet. Cade on the other hand was much more cautious!! I have gotten used to not having a dog around full time so it was a good trial for our new puppy that we are on the waiting list for!!! 

The next morning after RaRa and Poppa arrived, Aunt Iris went into early labor again so my mom had to rent a car and rush off. So we unfortunately didn't get to spend as much time with her as we would have liked but the boys made sure to got their Poppa loving in!!! 

 I found these shirts at Old Navy a couple of months ago and we have been waiting to see Poppa to wear them....

They just didn't want to cooperate for my little photo opp.....so this is the best shot I got! (that seems to be happening more lately) 

And by the end of the two day visit....I believe Bullet was trying to avoid Brooks at all cost....I can't imagine why...??!!

Uncle Russ was a little later arriving b/c he had to work, so the boys were super excited when he arrived for his short visit....

And this is how Cade treats Bullet, they became buddies by the end of the trip!

While they were playing outside with Uncle Russ I was getting lunch ready....I left Cade's pizza on the table to cool off and when he came in to eat ALL of his pizza was gone!!! That may be part of the reason Bullet started to like Cade so much :) 

He isn't my "little" brother anymore :(

We ate some great food, which Dad says was his favorite part!! We had some good fun family time!!  Josh even taught Russ how to ride the dirt bike....ok well he at least tried to. Russ didn't stay on long enough for anyone to get a picture, but my dad took it for a little spin!! 

New Years Eve LSU played in the Chick-fil-a bowl!! We had a game party at our house and DD, Grandpere, Aunt Mandie and Uncle Baine all come over to join in on the fun! 

The LSU game got pretty embarrassing very fast so we had a little added entertainment for the night. 

Uncle Baine killed his FIRST deer....so we got to watch him skin it, while hanging from the SWINGSET!!! 

Only in Louisiana...at least they were thoughtful enough to put a tarp down!!

We had to quickly retire with the boys inside because the fireworks for New Years started going off and neither of the boys like the sound of them...so Uncle Russ read them some books before bedtime...

Poppa, Uncle Russ and Bullet left for their next destination on New Years morning. We had to get a few more pics though before they headed out!! 

We had a great time and really enjoyed their company!

Christmas in Houston

This weekend we took a trip to Houston to celebrate Christmas with Josh's family. Aunt Mandie and Uncle Baine came in from Washington and Memom and Mr. Lige came in town as well.

We loaded up in the car and plugged in the movie players....

4 1/2 hours later we made it to Houston and Cade went right to the new "reading corner" that DD made for the boys. 

And soon after we arrived it was time to get in their adorable matching PJ's...but of course they didn't want to cooperate for a picture....the best I could get....

We decided to open stockings before dinner....

 Cade and Dani helped by passing out the stockings

 After dinner it was time to open presents......

And then of course it was time to assemble the new presents.....

And you can't ever conclude a family Christmas without a family picture....ok so maybe that's not true, except for when I am around......

then the boys got to play with their awesome car rug that Aunt Mandie made for them

One morning the boys took a trip to Grandpere's office....

And the boys had fun trying out their new bubble guns.....

They had a little bubble war....

Cade won!!! 

They have both started singing "You Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story. They would constantly pick up this guitar and pretend to play while singing the song....cutest thing E.V.E.R.!!

While the older boys and Dani enjoyed a little duck hunt....

Cade and mommy had a little play date to the playground while Brooks was napping one day....

We also did a little shopping and light viewing at The Woodlands...

The boys goofed some with Grandpere and Daddy....

The boys even got in a little swim in the heated pool....however we didn't have any swim diapers, so they took a little skinny dip and LOVED every minute of it!!

We had a really fun visit in Houston!! Until next time.....
