Funny Story Friday: Calling the Doves

 

In lieu of "Funny Story Friday"

 

I decided to share this precious picture....

 

This is usually a nightly occurance at our house! Josh has taught the boys how to "call" doves using their hands, while they haven't mastered the calling yet, they are well on their way!!

Memorial Day Fun Redneck Beach Style

We really didn't have any real plans for Memorial Day this year except that Aunt Mandie and Uncle Baine were in town for a couple of days so we decided we would try to go to a new water park in an area close by. When we got there, it was pretty crowded so we took a scenic route back home and found this little "beach" on the bank of a creek literally on the side of the road and I was convinced to pull off on the side of the road and hike down this hill with two toddlers in tow to have a redneck Memorial Day outing....

 

 

Of course we had to get a redneck family pic to top it all off!!

 

 

Cade loved being in the water. We had a life jacket on him and the current in the river would carry him from one person to the next and he though that was so much fun!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dani had a blast and just kept expressing how awesome it was and how much fun she had!! She caught tadpoles the whole time and put them in little water pockets surrounded by sand.

 

 

 

 

 

I can't say the same for mommy and Brooks. Brooks hated the sand in his toes so we just sat back and enjoyed watching everyone else have fun. He eventually loosened up when daddy made him get in the water.

 

 

 

It was a memorable experience and I enjoyed the spontaneity of it...but I think it is safe to say it probably won't be a new Memorial Day tradition!!

 

Happy Memorial Day everyone!! We are grateful to all of the men and women on this day who gave their lives for our freedom!!

Houston Zoo

 While we were in Houston for the weekend, we had a morning that we were able to sneak off for a fun Zoo trip!!

We got to see the elephants getting a bath....

 

Brooks got in trouble by this little man for squeezing the baby alligator too hard...haha!

 

They both loved the elephants!

Dani had to leave to go with her mom in the middle of our trip, but we promised we would feed the giraffes for her....so this was for Dani, and the boys enjoyed it as well although Cade was too intimidated to get too close!

 

Cade really enjoyed this monkey, he sat by him for a good 10 minutes and the monkey just kept chewing on this stick.

We had a fun time on our zoo adventure!!

Quick Trip To Houston

Recently we had to take a trip to Houston to finish up some legal stuff with Dani. So we took advantage of the weekend and had some fun at DD & Grandpere's.

 

We took a trip to a park downtown...there was this really cool "lego" wall so we stopped to take some pics. Of course no one was as enthusiastic about it as I was...Whomp Whomp!

 

 

 

Dani and I took some jump pics by the fountains....I would say I still got it!!

 

Cade was too interested in the water and fountains to participate in our pictures....

 

We did lots of swimming over the weekend. Dani eventually had to go with her mom for a couple of days so she wasn't with us the majority of the weekend.

 

 

DD gave the boys some super yummy and super messy popsicles!

 

 

Cade was my little water bug all weekend! As long as he has this little inner tube on, he could just swim all day long!

 

Eventually we got them out of the pool and they sat on the edge and played with their fishing poles. Josh tied a goggle lens to the end to give it some weight and Cade literally sat there for an hour casting and reeling back in. I think daddy will have a good fishing buddy very soon!!

 

And of course no weekend at DD's is complete without ice cream!

 

We also took a couple of cute pics in the front yard, she had some beautiful green plants!!

 

 

We had a wonderful, fun visit!!
