Thanksgiving in Houston

We traveled to Houston this year for Thanksgiving to Grandpere & DD's house.

 

 We had some great family time....

 

 

Great food, which resulted in really good naps......

 

The boys got to go swimming in the heated pool even though it was freezing outside! 

 They got plenty of play time in with their toys as well as the dogs....

 

The girls did a little Black Friday shopping on Thursday night....

We got some AMAZING deals and also got some good parking spots! 

  

Best deal of the night was at Jo. A Banks!! 

We went in to get a couple of shirts and came out with two $375 cashmire sweater for $29!!!!! 

 

The guys did a lot of hunting, Boosky even got to take his first hunt ever!! 

 

  

And Dani even joined in for one day!! 

 We had a great time together just enjoying being with family!

 Before we left to come home Dani was challenged to climb the tree in the front yard.....

 She got super high....can you spot her??!!

YEC

Dani had her first youth trip to YEC which stands for Youth Evangelistic Conference in Alexandria, LA.

 

 

I was asked to be a chaperone, so I took off a couple of days of work and went along on my first youth trip as an adult chaperone!!

 

 

 

These were our roomies for room 106!! 

 

The kids had a blast and so did I!! They had a great speaker named Azheem Ziafat who did an amazing job of bringing the Word to the students and leaders!! So many lives were changed that weekend and that's what it's really all about...changing lives for Jesus Christ!!

 

One afternoon we had a couple of free hours so we went shopping at a local mall. Dani and I found some funny calendars!!

 

The last night we were there was the rap concert. Dani saw a whole new side of Momma A!! I taught her some of my old dance moves.....we had a great time dancing and being silly together!!! 

 

Some of my other fav girls from my 10th grade Sunday School class.....

 

The morning that we ere scheduled to leave, I walked to my car to start packing it up and realized that the suspension was busted!! So the youth group had to leave me in Alexandria while I spent two hours getting my car fixed up so it was safe for me to drive home!!

 

 

Regardless of the crazy ending to the trip, it was worth it to be able to chaperone on Dani's first of many youth trips and to see her experience God in a new way that she never has before!! I look forward to many more trips....

NMS Choir

The Northwestern Middle Choir  

The morning of the 23rd of November, Dani and her Middle School Show Choir, also known as Encore, took a trip to Barnes and Noble in Baton Rouge to perform for the annual Zachary Book Fair. 

 

 

They performed some Christmas songs to get everyone in the Christmas spirit!! 

 

Great job NMS Encore Choir!! 

 

Luckily they had a lego table right below where the choir was performing so the little brothers stayed engaged and entertained during the performance!

Greater Baton Rouge Children's Choir Fall Concert

Dani had her first GBRCC choir concert on November 22nd.

It was amazing!!! Mrs. Ellis did a great job getting all of the kids ready for a stellar performance!! It was about an hour long and honestly I don't particularly care for this type of music, but watching Dani perform with such a professional, beautiful choir made me so proud!! And I can honestly say that I really enjoyed it!

She did so great and we are looking forward to their next concert in February. 

 

 

She had an awesome fan club up to listen to the performance, all of who were VERY impressed!!
