Is it almost time for her to start high school??!!

You can't even comprehend how long this "look" took for her to  put together for her high school debut. Ready or not here comes high school! At least she is still willing to take a picture with me.

Newborn Pictures

First Week at Home

Our welcome home was great at first....but that didn't last long! I unfortunately started running a high fever of 103 shortly after we got home. I had to get re-admitted to the hospital overnight for testing, fluids and antibiotics by IV. The weather was terrible so we decided to keep Judd home instead of putting him the car for the 45 minute plus drive back and forth to the hospital. So, Daddy and Papa took care of all FOUR kids alone on night one!! Shout out to team Dad and Grandpa!

My mom went with me to the hospital. They still never really concluded what the problem was but we are assuming it was the beginning stages of mastitis from my breastmilk coming in so fast. But I can tell you I was ready to come home to my baby after a 24 hours re-stay at the hospital without him!! Daddy did a fantastic job though managing everything while we were gone!! So thankful for him...he supplemented Judd with formula every two hours, changed many diapers, was up until 2 am off and on, and still got the boys and Dani off to school on time, dressed and lunch packed. Not that I am shocked, he works well under pressure, but I can tell you most dads and grandpas wouldn't dare try to tackle four kids the first night home with a newborn, but they did and they did it well!!

After having fluids overnight and getting the breast milk arrival calmed down, I was released to come home feeling much better! I was also coming down with a wicked cold, so they gave me oral antibiotics as well to ward off any further infection.
We finally got our family picture together in all of their cute shirts!! Judd's surprise arrival put a wrench in my plan since Dani wasn't in town and then having to go back to the hospital didn't help!

But seriously, when I look at this picture it makes me feel overwhelmingly blessed and grateful!

And then this one....look at these beautiful, healthy, perfect children!! I am one lucky momma/step-mom!

"Children are a gift from the Lord, they are a reward from Him." Psalm 127:3

Judd is doing great at home so far! He loves to eat every two hours (I am breastfeeding), he loves snuggling with mommy and he is sleeping pretty much all the time...which is normal for a newborn!
The two proud big brothers finally got to hold baby Judd for the first time!!
They both were running a low grade fever and had coughs the day he was born so we kept them as far away as we could...but look how proud they are now that they got their hands on him!! So sweet!

I love this sweet picture of Judd in Daddy's lap....so serious!

Doing what he does best...snoozing away, working on growing those sweet cheeks!
Papa and Rara were in heaven with all of their grandboys in town! Iris and her family arrived on Thursday to welcome Judd into the family.

Aunt Mandie and Adelaide came in for the week, so we got to spend some great time hanging out with them!! The boys loved Adelaide and she did great playing with all the older kids! Both aunts got some good snuggle time in with Judd too!

Cade has been quite smitten with Judd since his arrival....he DOES NOT STOP KISSING, which I don't blame him, how can you resist those cheeks??!!
His shirt says "This is what Handome looks like"...right??!!

A sweet shot that uncle Justin got of Rara holding Judd!

They love holding Judd as much as they can. I am so glad they love him so much!!

Briggs finally got his turn holding his new cousin!

The cousins all had a blast playing together, as always!

So thankful for so much supportive family, especially during these times! My mom, sister and DD were so much help the first few days keeping the house running just as I would with laundry, dinner, running the kids around. I just got to sit and love on my baby while recovering.

The classic kissy picture...it had to happen!

Our church created a meal train, which is a website where people can sign up to bring you food. One night my friend Robyn brought us dinner and she brought personal pizzas for the boys to make for themselves. They thought it was so fun, what a great idea!!

Judd had a great first week at home!! He got lots of snuggles, plenty of rest and a lot of kisses on those chubby cheeks from all of his visitors! We are adjusting to being a family of six and luckily we have a lot of help in the next few weeks to get us there. We put a camper in our car port so Rara can stay as long as we need her!
.
Stay tuned for many, many more pictures and updates to come!
