Snow Day at school!!

Brooks daycare hired a snowball truck to come out and produce a snow day for his class!! What a great idea right??!!
You can see the kids had a BLAST!!! Brooks was talking about it for days!

My cute little snow man!!

We are so thankful for such a great daycare that not only takes care of our boys, but really focuses on making memories and fun while learning!! We have been with Bright Beginnings daycare from the beginning and we have one more little man that gets to go through another 4 years!! We are so thankful that Mrs. Stacey (the director) really enjoys her passion and gift with children and fosters that through blessing us and providing us with a great place to send our kids during the day!! Brooks loves going to "school" everyday and that really says something!!

Funny Story Friday

Clean out time!! I told Dani to clean out her room before Christmas, she did a very, very poor and minor clean out job!!! The bare minamal....SO....I told her that if she didn't clean out the right way, one day I would.....so she left for her mom's house and I went to put something up in her room one day and next thing you know, I am knee deep in her junk!!!!

I text her and told her what I was doing, she said thanks....then I told her I get to keep all money I find tucked away in a bag or box anywhere in her closet as my finders/cleaning fee!! Jackpot!!! I found $130, of course I kept in in an envelope for her future needs, but isn't that crazy??!!

This was my end result, from right to left, the give away pile, the trash pile and the sale pile!! I made another $60 on selling her stuff that she never used, I reduced her bags in her room by about 6 so that her money stashing, food trash piles and clothing loss would be minimized!!

"Best" finds of the day.....Her chocolate stash under her bed, that was half eaten, that I purchased a month ago for a fundraiser and never saw the result of....now I know why!!!

And a perfectly good bathing suit, wet, wadded up in a plastic bag in the back corner of her closet, molded and STANKY!!!!! Yep, straight to the trash it went!
While I would have rather spent my day doing something else, I am glad that it is done, the right way, boxed up, thrown away, cleaned up and organized!!

Now let's see how long it lasts!!! $130 is not a bad pay day!

Christmas Morning

Merry Christmas!

The presents are wrapped, laid out and ready for the kids to wake up!!

Each of the kids get three presents each and a stocking filled with goodies!!
We decided a few years ago this was the best way to handle the gifts so that we don't over buy and they don't over receive, plus we relate it back to the three presents the wise men brought Jesus when he was born.

Dani was sporting her new beanie hat and her new cowboy boots!!

Dani's favorite gift was her Taylor Swift concert tickets and Daddy was being silly sporting his new vest he got!

The boys got a lot of new toys to play with as you can see below:
Art easel, tool table, cash register, doctor kit, and lots of little toys that kept them busy for hours!

Booski even got his new pig, he was so proud!

Dani got a bonus gift this year and inherited her first gun from her dad!!

Daddy built me an awesome battery  holder that I have been hinting about for years...isn't it perfect??!!

The boys had fun in the bath with their shaving kits that momma Jean sent them!!

Overall it was a great Christmas morning!! We are all so blessed and so undeserving of any gifts. As we look back and reflect on the greatest gift of all, the birth of Jesus Christ, we enjoyed opening presents, eating a warm breakfast, and having some great family time together!!

Unfortunately this year we did find out that Dani and Cade had the flu during Christmas! Dani got diagnosed yesterday and has been feeling lowsy every since. Cade's fever has almost subsided and he is felling much better today! Not the way we wished to spend our Christmas morning and holidays, but doctor mommy is taking care of everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone!

The Christmas Story

It is that time of year again that the Christmas story is told by the preschoolers at church!!

This year Cade was selected to be one of the three wise men and Brooks got to be an angel.

Cade was so excited to get dressed and sing his song!

Brooks on the other hand began from the week before saying he did NOT want to be an angel and wear a dress!! And so the morning of, we fought with him about getting dressed and tried to convince him that cowboys were angels too (because he wanted to wear his cowboy hat). We initially made him leave it in the car, but he was crying to bad when it came time for the performance, his teachers said it was fine for him to wear it on stage.....

So I present to you, probably the first ever cowboy angel in the Christmas play!! But he was quite the hit of the stage and he was happy and singing, so mission accomplished. It reminds me of his brother last year....we officially have a 2 year streak of having our kids being the only ones who won't wear the angel costumes!!

Cade did a great job singing and bringing the gifts to baby Jesus!

Maybe next year Brooks will cooperate if he has a more manly costume!! Stay tuned for that!

Christmas Parties

Cade had his class Christmas party and I got to go enjoy food, brownies, drinks and their little performance. After it was all done, I got to check my little man out early and have a fun day!!

Then we went to Brook's Christmas/PJ party at the daycare!!

They exchanged gifts and Brooks got an Olaf plate and cup set from his friend Jackson!

Christmas will be here soon!!! It's getting exciting around here!
