Campout

Dani and her friend, Victoria, were super helpful at the birthday party and so we agreed to let them camp out in the backyard as our way of saying thank you!

 

Daddy and Dani put up the first tent......with some help from the boys!

 

Then Victoria brought over her tent, so they pitched that one as well!

Dani's tent was used as the "sleeping tent" and Victoria's tent was designated the "snack and activity" tent.

 

Unfortunately we were having record low tempatures last weekend and the low got down to 45 degrees!!! But they decided they wanted to try and tough it out. So they rented the hunger games and watched it on Dani's laptop and I brought them hot brownies, popcorn and hot chocolate throughout the movie to keep them warm.

 

When it was time to go to sleep Josh put extra blankets on top of the tent to insolate the warmth. We kept waiting to hear the door open in the middle of the night but much to our suprise, the girls slept in the tent ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

 

Maybe Dani really is ready for a real campout! She had a great first experience and hopefully this is a start of many more campouts in her future!!
