Church Summer Camps

Our church, First Baptist Zachary, has a fabulous children's ministry. We are so grateful to Brother Stanley and all of the adults who have reached out to Dani and made her feel so welcome. Dani absolutely LOVES going to church there and being involved as much as she can!

During the summers they have some great camps to keep the kids involved and to help them serve in the community. Dani got to attend most of the camps this summer and she had a great time meeting some new friends and learning so much more about the gospel.

This summer she also officially got to join the PHISH team(Pursuing Holiness I Serve Him). She has been asking for a while to be on it but they practice on Sunday nights and perform some during the week so we didn't think that she would be able to join since she isn't here most of those times. However, we talked with the children's pastor and he said he wanted her to join and be involved as much as she could!! To say Dani was excited is an understatement!! She is currently trying to learn how to work the sound and computer so that the Sundays that she is here she can help out with that.

The verse for the Cheer camp was John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life, No one comes to the father except through me."

Thanks to Mrs. Amie Stagg for being the director of the cheer camp and allowing God to use her!!

Mission Trip
(June 26-29th)

This year for the 5th & 6th grade mission trip the kids stayed at the church and did various mission projects around the community. They started off at the Mary's house of bread (a homeless shelter), then went to an elderly home in Zachary, and ended up at a womens/children shelter in Baton Rouge. The message they shared were the four foundational elements of being a Christian 10.7.3.1 "Cracking the Code of Life". Many lives were touched through this powerful message that the kids brought through their puppet ministry, music, balloon animals and face painting.

Impact is the awesome children's ministry that we have at FBCZ

The children's pastor Bro. Stanley posted this on his blog about the week's trip: "The Mission trip with the 5 & 6 graders this year was one of the most awesome trips I have ever been on. God moved in mighty ways among the kids and the areas we went. We stayed here in the Zachary area following the Great Commission and we went to the least of these in our home town sharing the Gospel. The Holy Spirit moved in the environments the kids were in from Mary's House of Bread to St. Vincent De Paul Children's Shelter. I can not wait to see what God has planned for us next."

Here is the mission trip team meeting about their week's plan...

Dani had a blast this whole summer, in her words "this was the best summer yet!!" and she really made some great friends with some girls her age that hopefully will remain for the years to come!! We are so proud of her for taking the time to serve during this summer by doing her part in sharing the wonderful news about Jesus Christ!!
