San Antonio

This past weekend we went to San Antonio with Josh's family. We left on Wednesday evening and drove straight through....9 hours total...whew!! Luckily the kids were great and slept most of the way but were a little fussy since it was such a long drive in the car!! Cade would wake up every hour or so and just cried b/c he wanted out...I felt so bad for him!! Luckily we had Mickey Mouse downloaded on the IPad and that was a lifesaver!!!

WARNING....LOTS OF PICTURES IN THIS POST :)

The rest of the crew got there a day ahead of us and decided to go to a town called Fredricksburg and went hiking and rock climbing. Dani experienced her first rock climb and they all said she did a great job!! I am sure this is the beginning of many climbs!! Luckily she had the best teachers...Aunt Mandie and Uncle Baine are the pro rock climbers of the family!! (also pictured are Brittany and Nick, ironically enough the Burnhams were also there on a little family vaca when we were so we all got to hang out some :))

Look at her go...!!

Day 1 of our trip we took a walk on the river walk, Cade enjoyed just running around. We had to strap on his little backpack with harness to make sure he didn't take a little swim but he did good staying away from the water. Then we had a Christmas gift opening with Josh's family and Dani since we had not seen them to give everyone their gifts. Then after the kids took a nap we all headed out to Fiesta Texas (Six Flags) and enjoyed some rides and playing on different games.

Merry Christmas!

Dani's big present this year was from Daddy, Abby, DD & Grandpere...a laptop!!

Fiesta Texas....

Cade's first ride.....Tea cups!!

Enjoying some play time together!

Daddy and Dani go for a little ride....Dani said she felt like she was about to puke...I don't blame you girl, I hate rides too!!

Cade watching Dani and Daddy with Grandpere...

Brooks hanging out...happy little man!

Brooks finally got to get in on the fun on the carousel ride!!

Snack time...you can see the new double stroller came in handy and we had that thing loaded down!!! You may also notice Brooks little outfit change...he had a little accident...hey it happens!!

This is the extent to Mommy's rollercoster riding....you can see I was so scared, haha!!

After the rides we took a little time to play some games...

Dani won the ring toss game and got this massive stuffed animal....she was so excited!

Everyone was in on the action...even Cade haha!

Everyone had fun at the fishing game....

Day 2 of the trip we started off walking to the Alamo (about 6 blocks from our hotel). We then headed out to Sea World. It was a jam packed day of shows of the Shamu, Dolphins, Sea Lions, Sesame Street Live, playground, sharks, fish...whew I'm tired just typing it...but it was fun and Cade loved all of them!! He was worn out by the end of the day...we all were! But I guess that's the way you know that you had a good day of fun!

Sea World....

Feeding the dolphins.....

Going to see the Shamu show....he was so amazed...we heard a lot of "Wow, Woah, Look..."

                                              Cade says...where did they go??!!

I love this pic...you can see they were both loving the shamu...

And then we went to see Sesame Street live....oh how Cade loves Elmo and Abby!!!

Aunt Mandie came down front with us!!

Then we saw the sea lion show...it was pretty funny..Cade was once again amazed...

Then we went and visited the sea lions...Cade learned a new animal sound!
I love his face here...this is what he did a lot of the day when he saw something cool....

Then we went and played in the kids area for a while...Dani and Cade had fun on this little ropes course....

Brooks on the other hand was worn out!! Did I mention he had a second tooth pop out while we were there?!! YAY!!

"Cookie" Monster...Cade wouldn't take his eyes off of him..haha!

Dolphin show....Cade thought I was leaving him...haha he has become a little mama's boy....

And then we went and checked out the sharks and fish....Cade thought it was cool that he could get right up next to the glass, although when shark swam by it scared him...

Day 3 we just hung around downtown. We took the kids to the Children's Museum downtown. Then we took a little river boat ride, had lunch at a mexican restaurant and then took the kids back for a nap. I did sneak off for a minor shopping trip but no damage was done...just window shopping.

Hey look at that cute little baby fish.....
Trolly....

Airplane....

Brooks got in on the fun at the miniture house......

River boat ride....

That night it was New Years Eve so Josh's parents kept the boys so we could sneak off for a little date. We ate at the Saltgrass Steak House on the river and then went and saw the movie, New Years Eve. We then had another hour and a half to spare before the fireworks so we walked around downtown with Josh's sister and her husband people watching until midnight and the clock struck 12 and the firework show began!!! I think that was the first time I actually got a midnight kiss under live fireworks!! It was so much fun...(although I felt a little under dressed without my sparkly, sequin dress on, apparently that is the new attire for New Years...oh well maybe next year)...it was a great night!!

We left the next morning and drove back to Josh's parents house and had a New Years dinner with some black eyed pea soup and cabbage to give us some luck and wealth to start off 2012!! Breaking up the drive for the kids was huge and made it not seem as far on the way home.

We had a great trip with the family and made lots of memories! Cade seemed to enjoy the activies of the weekend and of course we all enjoyed seeing him get so excited. Dani always has so much fun doing anything with the family and she really seemed to enjoy it all again this time. Brooks hung in there well and was a great sport about being cooped up in the car and stroller the whole time...he loves to roll around so by the end of the weekend he was pretty happy to get some much deserved "tummy time". Many thanks to DD and Grandpere for a great vacation!

On our way home we stopped at Tommy and Heather's house to see them and Gage and have our little annual Hebert/Gould Christmas exchange...I had to throw a couple pics in from the stop....these boys are going to have so much fun together in years to come and we are excited that we get to welcome Mason into the world in a few weeks!!

They played bumper cars in the kitchen.....

Thanks for our Christmas present Auntie Heather and Uncle T!

Cute pic...checking out the backyard and the dog Dixie....
