Cade's Surgery.....

Cade had ear tubes and his adenoids removed yesterday. We had to be there at 6 a.m. for the check-in. Mommy was super nervous b/c of the anesthesia. But Cade did great!! He was playing his IPad before the surgery (if you have never seen this kid work an IPad it is quite a treat....he is a WIZ at it!!!) The doctors and nurses were all impressed with his skills.....

Waiting to go back to surgery, he had no idea what was about to happen!! While we were waiting he was playing on the hospital bed jumping, shaking the bed, playing peek-a-boo with the curtains, running around like a crazy man!! The nurses were laughing at him b/c he was having such a good time. Then they took him back, which I got a little teary eyed but maintained my composure well considering.....About 10 minutes passed and he was done.

The WORST part was him waking up from the anesthesia...it was awful!! He was throwing himself around and didn't know what was going on, he would open his eyes but you could tell he didn't know who I was at first. It took him about 30 minutes to snap out of it and he still wasn't happy with where he was. We decided to go ahead and leave and the second we walked out of those hospital doors he was a happy boy...pointing at the birds and cars and I even got a little smile :)
He slept the whole way home.....

When we got home he was a little fussy but as soon as he saw his brother, he perked up it was full speed ahead. You would have never been able to tell the child just had surgery. They told us he would sleep for a couple of hours but not Cade....he doesn't like to miss out on the fun!! Brooks and Cade played all day together. Here he is below with all of his after surgery treats...RaRa sent him some books for his get well day!!
He is recovering well, he got fussy a couple of times yesterday when he would settle down long enough to probably realize something felt weird, but Dani and and Grandpere are here today (DD has been here since Thursday to help with the kids) so he has been a little show-off!! We are hoping this surgery is going to help him stay well longer than he has been....so far he has been almost 4 weeks now without a sickness which is a record from the last 6 months....makes me want to do a happy dance!!!!

Thanks for all of the prayers and support from our family and friends over the last couple of days. As the doctor said after his surgery...we are back to business as usual around here!!
