Last Thursday, I took the day off of work and had a Thursday fun day with Dani to get things ready for school....
First stop, 7th grade orientation!!
Then it was off to get school supplies...
Next stop...BRACES!!!!
That's right, Dani is officially the cutest metal mouth I know!! She got the top braces, in 5 weeks she will get a head gear to wear at night to help move her mouth into the correct placement and then 5 weeks after that she will get the bottom braces complete with rubber bands.
She told me I was not allowed to take pictures, but I snuck a few in! She did great and they surprisingly haven't hurt her that bad!
After the braces she got her hair cut, finally....after about 7 months!!
Just in time for her youth group induction that night!!! That's right, Dani is officially a youth group member!!
It was a really fun night! They started off with games, which Dani won
the light saber game against a boy! See the video for that one! Then
they had the actual induction service, they played laser tag, had a
midnight swim party and then had a sleepover girls and boys separate, of
course. She said she had a blast and is looking so forward to being in the youth group!
This is her playing the final round of the light saber game....
We look forward to watching Dani develop into a Godly young woman over the next few years and we know that the youth group at FBCZ is going to play a huge role in her life. We look forward to the years to come and being involved in that ministry.
On a side note, the children's pastor recently resigned from the church, Brother Stanley. He played a huge role in Dani's life and developing as a Christian over the last few years. We encouraged Dani to write a letter to him expressing that and wow did she ever express that!! It brought me to tears reading her sweet note to him.....
I remember how being involved in the children's and youth ministries changed my life growing up and I am still great friends with people I met through the youth group!! I look forward to watching her involvement in the youth and continued growth as a leader and strong Christian young lady!
Stay Tuned...
