Around the beginning of June this year we received a phone call from Wildrose Kennels in Oxford, MS that we were finally in the running to get our new puppy that we had been on the waiting list for since October of 2012. We were on the waiting list for a fox red, male lab puppy. Finally our turn had come!
We received this picture at the beginning of July saying that these were all of the males and we had first pick of the four!!
We got this next picture the second week in July once they were 5 weeks old with an email saying that puppy delivery day was going to be July 26th in Oxford and we needed to make arrangements to be there to pick out our little guy!!
On July 26th Josh and his dad flew up to Oxford in Mr. Loree's plane and picked out this adorable little guy!! We had been deabting about names ever since we found out about him and still were unsure what his name would be. That afternoon they arrived back at home with the puppy and the craziness began!!! We were all so excited to meet out newest member of the family!!
We narrowed the names down to Copper, Roseaux, and Boscoyo...
These are some additional pictures from the "puppy delivery day" at Wildrose.
And here is his arrival in Zachary, LA!!
Poor little guy was a little scared with all of the commotion, so he stayed close to Josh most of the day, but he also took some time checking out his new home!
Both of the boys were a little hesitant at first, but it didn't take long for them to get real comfortable with the puppy!!
And it didn't take the puppy long to find anything and everything to chew on!!
Here he is going on his first walk on the leash....and he did great!!
And finally, three days after he came home we settled on his name of Boscoyo (prounounced Boo-ski-yo) which in the cajun world is the term for a cypress knee on the tree. We decided to stick with a cajun name, which has always been a tradition in the Hebert family.
He is an adorable little guy and has adjusted well to his new home!! We are working on potty training, kennel training, and obedience training. He likes to sleep a lot and he likes to play a lot as well. They boys and Dani have really enjoyed playing with him and honestly they boys haven't played with their own toys in a while since the puppy has been around!!
We are so happy to have a new little man in our lives!! We have all missed having a puppy/dog around the house. I can honestly say I am not looking forward to cleaning up the pee, poop, and dog hair, but the happiness that he is going to bring the family is well worth it in the end!!!
Welcome to the family Boscoyo!!!
