Dani's first ER visit...

Last weekend we were all so excited about going to the LSU vs. Alabama game!! We were all getting ready, the babysitter was about to arrive for the boys and then Josh's dad comes back to our room to inform us that Dani cut her finger while using a KNIFE trying to open a toy for the boys and might need stitches.....

Josh was ready so he hurried in the kitchen and took her to the after hours clinic down the street. She was not a happy camper when she heard the word "stitches". Luckily stitches were not necessary, however to be safe the doctor suggested a tetanus shot!!! Usually she wouldn't be due for the shot until she was 12, but since she was 11 1/2 he wanted to be safe....Dani's response "IM ONLY 11 and A HALF!!!" (as she is crying)

Little did we know Dani does NOT like shots, which neither do I BUT her dislike was on a whole different level!! This was our first experience with Dani with her "teenage" attitude coming out. She jerked her hand away from me and started saying didn't want the shot....well actually screaming it while crying. I tried my best to comfort her, Josh tried to talk her down and make her focus on reality that it really wasn't going to be that bad, we gave her time to try and calm down and drink some water, but after 15 minutes of all that, we realized nothing was working!! Ultimately administering the shot came down to Josh, his dad, and DD physically holding her down while the nurse gave the shot to her while Dani is SCREAMING and fighting to the last second. She did get out of DD holding her legs and kicked her in the head!!! (not on purpose of course it was just her desperate attempt to get free) After it was all done and she took a minute to calm down...she said that wasn't as bad as I thought....SERIOUSLY??!!! It was honestly the most traumatic thing I have witnessed to do with any of my children, man I am so glad she didn't have to get stitches!

Thankfully that was over and we were ready to go cheer on the Tigers, and we got there just in time for pre-game, which is our favorite part!!

Here she is after the shot with her new puppet and bandaged up finger....

And here is my reaction to what just happened...haha!
