Cell Science Project

Dani got her first major project assignment for the year, a cell project for Science.

They basically had to create a model of a cell any way they wanted to. It could be edible or not, as creative as possible, and it had to show certain parts of either the animal or plant cell.

After much debate, Josh and Dani decided to make the cell out of wood and make it into a puzzle.

So off they went to Wal Mart to get the supplies and begin the Night 1 of 3 of the cell project!

First off was sketching the cell, then cutting out the parts....

Then Dani had to paint the different parts

Night two, they had to finish cutting, painting, gluing, and labeling....

Don't mess with Daddy and the glue gun, he means business!

And then it was finally the finished product...worth 145 points!!

Dani's teacher emailed me to let us know how impressed she was with Dani's project and asked if she could keep it as an example for future years!!

All that hard work and Dani got a 145/145 on her project!! Way to go Dani (and Daddy)!!!!

We are goin' to Jackson...That's a fact!

The first weekend of December we took a trip to see Memom & Pa-Paw in Jackson! It was the perfect weekend because it was also Bailey's birthday and they live close to Jackson so we were able to make it a fund day!

We started off eating lunch at Memom's house. Then the boys got some energy out playing in the leaves. Although it was VERY cold, so luckily we brought their ski bibs and heavy jackets along!!

Dani wasn't scheduled to be with us this weekend, but due to the cold weather her flights to her mom's house got cancelled so she got to come along for the Saturday Fun Day!

After playing in the leaves we took a trip down to the Terry Train Depot and checked out the train display they had there for the weekend. The boys were amazed at all of the cool trains they had there!

At about 3 we decided we needed to make our way to the party. So we drove about 45 minutes and did a little shopping at a nice mall in Jackson while we waited for party time at the Little Gym.

The boys even got to meet Santa in one of the stores we were shopping in.....

Brooks was hesitant and did NOT want to sit with Santa, but he let me hold him next to Santa for a couple of shots!

Then we headed to have fun at the Little Gym for Bailey's 2nd Birthday!!

We had a fun visit in Jackson!!

Until next time....
