We hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!!
We sure had a lot of fun.
We started off the night before Thanksgiving with a trip to Uncle Steve's camp where daddy and Grandpere were deer hunting and we pulled up just in time to hear Daddy shoot a deer!!
Cade said "What's that mom, that scared me" when he heard the gunshot as we were driving up.
So the boys got to experience their first dead deer....sounds so fun, I know!!
But Brooks LOVED it. He was touching the paw, tail, and he even tried to ride it like a horse.....
Cade on the other hand, just sat back and observed and said "Mommy he's sleeping"
Then Brooks decided to try and pick up the deer and reached down and touched all over the bloody part...DISGUSTING!! But he got a kick out of it and we quickly washed his hands off....
Here are my little hunters watching daddy and Grandpere skin the deer from afar....really far away!! We decided they were a little young to witness all of that so we took them back to where they really couldn't see at all.
Seriously....they are the cutest hunters ever!!
Then they got interested in playing with some flashlights....
We all ate dinner together and had a fun night at the camp.....
The next day we went back to the camp where we were having Thanksgiving lunch. We had a huge spread of food and it was all wonderful!!!
The boys ate their lunch well and enjoyed plenty of dessert afterwards....Cade enjoyed the ham and rolls while Brooks chomped down on it all!
Cade made a new friend at the camp that weekend...the dog "Camp It". He would just hang out with her and pet her, it was sweet and really made us realize that it is time for a new puppy!! We are now on the waiting list for a dog!!
We also had a little accident earlier that morning as we were all getting ready. The boys were playing in the tub and Brooks took a fall and busted his eye on the drain!!! Of course nothing was open for us to take him to get looked at but we decided that between the family vet, doctor, and eye doctor hopefully someone could fix him up. So cousin Jordan was the lucky one to glue his busted eye back together with some dermabond....Brooks was NOT happy about it though!!
Then we had fun playing around the house, camp and outside. We took some family pictures and enjoyed the beautiful weather reflecting on all that we are thankful for!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We hope you took time to reflect on all that you are thankful for, we are certainly blessed!!!
"O Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms."
Psalm 95:1-6
