Dani got home on Good Friday morning around 7:30 am from being gone for a week at Disney with her school choir and then was leaving the next morning to go to her mom's house for a week for spring break, so we took advantage of the day off and had a "Friday Fun Day"!!
We started off the morning at the zoo!! Brooks has been asking for me to take him to the zoo to see the lizards....so we finally had time to go!!
The Tigers were sleepy!
The alligators were too!!
We saw lots of antelope, monkeys, bison, goats, etc.
The otters were being silly!
And we finally found the reptiles, but much to Brooks disappointment, there were no lizards!!!
He searched high and low for them.....
Luckily Dani spotted a lizard climbing on the fence and saved the day!!
The giraffes were being very playful!!
We ended our zoo trip with a train ride around the zoo which they all really enjoyed!!
Next off it was time to visit Granddaddy at the nursing home in Zachary. He recently moved down from Texas due to some health issues to be closer to family. He is currently in a rehab program trying to improve his condition. We go visit usually once a week with the kids.
Since it was so close to Easter we brought some Easter eggs and let the kids have an egg hunt!
He enjoyed watching them get so excited about hunting the eggs!
He even had a prize egg in his hand for them!!
Last on the list for the day was Easter egg dying!! Dani carefully mixed up the colors with vinegar and food coloring....
We only had one MAJOR spill of almost an entire bowl of purple dye but luckily I put down towels around the table so there was no major damage! We used food coloring so nothing was permanent and easily came out when we washed everything!
They all had a great time!! Everyone got six eggs to dye!
Dani got creative using the food coloring and made some really pretty eggs!!
Here are the finished eggs....I would say the most beautiful eggs I have seen yet!!
We definitely had a "Friday Fun Day"!!
