Daddy Daughter Dance

On February 22, 2013 Dani had her first dance.

Father/Daughter Dance at her school, Northwestern Middle School.

First step...

We had to find the PERFECT dress!!

We found the search to be challenging because she is in that age range where some dresses made her look too young or they made her look too old!! Then we found it...

The picture doesn't do it much justice, but trust me, when she opened the dressing room door, we both lit up and started squeeling like girls do!! It was the perfect dress!!!

Next step, pedicure and manicure time the night before....

And then the day of, it was time to get the hair done!

Before....

 During....

And After! Thanks to Brooke at the Ruby Salon...

Then we rushed home so that they could begin their date with dinner at Sammy's. They decided not to get dressed yet so they wouldn't get their clothes messed up, which was a great idea!!

Meanwhile, these two crazy boys decided to get dressed up in a different way...

And I proudly present to you, the BEAUTIFUL Danielle Hebert for her first dance ever with the best date she will ever have.....her dad!!!

I mean seriously she is SOO incredibly gorgeous!!

We both fell in love with this dress when she tried it on in Dillards. We just loved how different and stylish it was. She said she got so many compliments all night on it!!

The beautiful couple all ready to go!! He is such a proud daddy....this just melts my heart. I know this was a great night for both of them.

It was very important for Josh to show Dani how a real boy should treat her on a real date so that in the VERY FAR future whenever she does have to go on a date, she know what to expect of a good man!

She was pretty upset at first when she brok her foot about having to wear the shoe boot to the dance, but we bedazzled it with a cute little feather and spruced up the other foot with a full out glitter shoe to take the attention away from her boot. It didn't seem to bother her at all that night.

It was such a sweet moment when she looked at me and I said "I feel so beautiful"!!! I quickly agreed, as she is always beautiful to us, but she was exceptionally stunning this night!

We are so happy we get to share these special memories with her now!!

Full length shot....

Silly poses....

And then we had to get diaper man and Spiderman in for a couple of shots.....

Dani said she had a great time. Josh said she would not hold his hand any longer once the got to the school, I guess that is not "cool". But he said she had a lot of fun with her friends dancing the night away and would come to dance with him on the slow songs. For those of you that know Josh, he isn't much of a dancer so he was fine with that.

I am so glad that they had a great time. What an amazing memory that they will both have forever to cherish!!

We love you Dani!

Until next time.....

Parker Blake Poland

I finally got to meet my nephew Parker Blake Poland on February 18, 2013, exactly four weeks after his birth.

Since he was in the NICU, my kids were sick, then I got sick twice, and Dani was exposed to the flu it took a while before we were all comfortable with me being around Parker. I made the executive decision to go by myself for a couple of days for the first visit so we wouldn't risk transmitting any unnecessary germs!!

I was VERY excited about a couple of days to head to my sister's house alone and be the "fun" aunt that I never have really gotten to be for Briggs because usually every time we are around him I have my boys and the attention is spread thin.

"Aunt Babby" arrived very early on Monday morning.....Briggs wasn't as excited as I was when I got there.....He was majorly checking me out!! Haha...

But he eventually started warming up to me....

I got plenty of snuggle time in while I was there....Parker was just pure sweetness!!!!  Sleeping and eating is what he did best!! He is a very good baby and I enjoyed every minute of his sweet cuddles....

Briggs is such a big helper already...he loves to help carry the baby!

We took a trip to the park one afternoon....

Iris and I even snuck away for a movie one night and left Justin by himself with both kids for the first time! Sister time was a must since we don't get to do it that often!! The boys were pretty good for Justin and we didn't get any "Come home now" calls, so that was good.

We had a lot of fun and we saw the movie Safe Haven. I love my big sis so much and hope to one day be closer so we can all have more time together making memories!

I already miss these boys like crazy!! I can't wait for Parker to meet his cousins in a couple of weeks!!

Until then I will cherish the time I had with both of these boys!

Thanks to Josh for holding down the fort at our house while I was gone!! He always does a great job with the kids when I have to leave, which isn't often. If you know me, being separated from my boys is SO HARD!!! They were both very happy to see mommy come home and I got some major snuggle time in my first night back. We had a little silly time with my phone too, I love all of my men in my life so much, I am blessed!!!!

Until next time...

Brooks-21 Months

Brooks is growing up so fast!!

He has grown FOUR inches since his first birthday!

He is talking up a storm!! I have people tell me all the time how well he talks. He will pretty much say anything you tell him to, or at least try. He can usually communicate pretty clearly what he wants with the exception of a few things, but if he can't say it he will certainly show you what he wants! We are working on identification of ABC's, numbers and colors. He tries to sing the ABC song, but it is hard to understand him. He has all of his animals and animal noises down pretty good aside from the tricky ones, like anteaters and what not!

He still has a slight obsession with "motorcycyules". You will him with one in hand about 85% of the time!

Surprisingly he is very cautious around new things he isn't sure about. This pic was taken at a birthday party a couple of days ago. Cade will just take off and play with no problems, but Brooks is extremely cautious and it takes him a while to get comfortable with his new surroundings. I was finally able to get him to warm up to the idea of "driving the fire truck" and he sat here for about 15 minutes watching all of the other kids.

This is so funny to me if you know Brooks and Cade's personalities. Cade is usually the Mr. Cautious and Brooks is the dare devil, but recently in certain situations, their roles are reversing. I am sure it is just his age.....let's hope!

This picture makes me so S.A.D. because he looks like such a big boy with his hair in a little mini mohawk!!

I cannot believe how fast my babies have grown up and now I have TWO big boys.

He really looks up to Daddy and loves to help him do anything and everything around the house. Josh was installing gutters on this day and Brooks saw he had a hammer in hand, he went inside, found his hammer in his toy box, and came back outside to "help".

He is so aware of his surroundings and is a very observant child. His teachers at school tell me all the time how incredibly smart he is....sometimes almost too smart!!

Watch out world we officially have JOSH JUNIOR!!!!!

He officially has NO paci and is sleeping in the big boy bed, NO MORE CRIB!!! He helped Daddy take it down last weekend....which was a bittersweet moment for mom!

Now this is what we often walk in to find after putting the boys to bed at night...so sweet!!

Some other fun facts about Brooks....

He weighs about 29 lbs.

His favorite food is fruit snacks, seriously the child could eat about 30 packs a day!! I have to leave the pantry closed b/c if I don't he will continously bring me a pack to open. Other than that he is actually a really decent eater. He will usually try anything you put in front of him. He loves to eat fish, pizza, pasta, veggies, and cheerios. He has his picky days, but don't we all??!

He has started singing alot. He has a certain song that he does the motions to and then he will put his little hands on his face and say "Hooray"!! We have yet to figure out what he is singing but I am pretty sure it is "If You Are Happy and You Know It".

He loves to play outside and usually chooses to ride either the bike or the 4-wheeler.

He is quite the mommy's boy, which melts my heart!! But he certainly loves his daddy too. There aren't many things that are more fun than play time with daddy!!

Every day when I get him at daycare he gets SOOO excited and comes running to me and will NOT let me put him down until we get to the car. Now don't get me wrong, he loves going to school every day, he just really gets so excited when I get there, which of course makes me feel so good! And when daddy gets home, he is the first one at the door jumping to get picked up by him, which is one of Josh's favorite times of the day! These are the moments where I think to myself, how did I ever live without these little guys??!!

We are blessed to have this sweet little man in our lives. I cannot believe he is almost 2 years old. Stay tuned for the joint birthday party on April 27th!!

Until next time.....
