Teacher Appreciation Art

We had teacher appreciation week last week at the daycare....we got creative and made some little pictures for the boy's teachers. I also made one for me and the grandmas for Mother's day as well....

We got our supplies ready...

We quickly realized the type of paint that the lady at Michaels told us to get was not going to get the job done properly....so we loaded up in the car to head to the old trusty Zachary Walmart (for those of you who have the pleasure of shopping at the Zachary Walmart you know that is a complete JOKE!!!) Luckily after three aisles I found the right kind of paint....

Making progress....we did feet first....

Brooks was not enjoying his painting experience...haha

Then we did hands...Cade loved painting....I quickly learned that clothes needed to be stripped off, especially when doing their hands, I only ruined two shirts during our project...lesson learned for next time....

The finished project, his teachers LOVED it, one responded "You are such a great little momma", something every mom likes to hear :)

Here is the one I made for myself and the grandmas...I will always treasure it....I love things like this that capture the growth of their hands and feet and it will forever remind me of our first paint project together :)

Funny Story Friday...Pinching for Punches

I have not done the greatest at keeping up with Funny Story Friday..sorry!!

Brooks is getting to be quite a handful when it comes to being bad...he is just plain mean!!! (majorly cute, but mean!!)  I have heard that the younger siblings have to learn to defend themselves, which in turn can cause them to be a little mean, but I must admit I didn't think it would happen before 1 year!!!! Cade tripped over Brooks the other day and sort of landed on top of him, once they both regained their composure Brooks looked at him and squished his little face in aggrivation and reached out and pinched Cade and then pushed him!! Cade's reaction was to just sit there and cry,  he hasn't quite learned to retaliate. At least not when we are watching, he is too afraid he will get in trouble!!  Josh and I both witnessed this and looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh. I am sure it won't be long before punches are thrown instead of pinches, oh the sweet memories :)

Here are a few pics of things we have been up to lately.......

One of my new favorite pictures, I love the intensity on their faces....I told Josh to distract them for a picture and he got a duck decoy and they both are so interested....greatness!!

Watch out....Brooks is driving!!

One of our daily fishing excursions to the neighborhood pond...Josh will tell you this is the best fishing he has had all year, sad part is that is true :( He has been a great help over the last few months with tax season and the kiddos!!

Someone told me the other day..."He is just a beautiful child"...my response...."I know, right??!! I agree he is", Haha after I said it I was like hmmm...that probably sounded kind of rude b/c you are supposed to say thank you to those types of compliments, but hey I really do think he is a beautiful child...let's just say looks ARE deceiving :) He will reel you in with that beautiful face and the second you get close enough and he doesn't like it, he will either pinch, bite, slap, scream or all of the above....

WEEEEE.....(don't worry, Josh caught him)

I love this little pic...Cade was looking at an airplane in the sky....so much concentration...

Brooks has a new trick!!! One step closer to walking...OH BOY!!!

Testing out the pool pad Cade got for his birthday, this is going to be a fun addition to Brooks' "beach birthday party" next week!!

HTB Family Picnic

HTB stands for Hannis T. Bourgeois, which is the accounting firm where I work. About a week ago we had the annual picnic and it was a lot of fun!! The picnic was at Players Gate on ONeal Lane. It was an awesome location and had great shaded areas for eating and playing. We had great food and fun with the co-workers of mommy's office!!

The boys played with bubbles, ate puffs off the ground :) and had snoballs...YUMMY!!!

They were quite the hit of the party since they are both seriously cute!!!

Sorry for the poor quality of the pics, we were inside and it was rather dark!

Cade even got a balloon fishing pole which he thought was awsome, but he was NOT excited about "Trixie the Clown" that made it for him!!

Brooks even got a hold of the balloon fishing pole. Let's just say it didn't survive long after this :)

They also had this fun inflatable slide that Cade enjoyed (slide isn't pictured)

Cade's Photo Book (7 months-1 year)

Shutterfly photo books are the new way to preserve your memories. Create your own today.

Cade Photo Book (Birth-6 months)

Create a gorgeous, high quality wedding photo album at Shutterfly.com.

I FINALLY got around to making Cade's one year book on Shutterfly, but I had to split it into two seperate books because I had so many pictures!! It is a relief to finally have this done, now on to more projects!

I must say that I was very impressed with Shutterfly and the many options there are to digitally scrapbook now. You will probably be able to tell a difference in the first book and then in the second book I figured out there were options to customize your pages more. Hopefully these books will be treasured in years to come by my boys!! I showed Cade the first book last night and he LOVED seeing all of the pictures of "baby Cade".

ENJOY!!

Pinterest Projects

I just thought I would share a couple of my first pinterest projects....

The first couple of projects are actually things that my sister did for me thanks to Pinterest!! She gave me these for my birthday and I LOVE them!!!

This first pic is a picture of my jewelry mess, but thanks to my sister, I now have all my earrings organized nice and neat in these cool little frames she made me!! Thanks Iris.....

This is another piece my sister gave me....my goal is to get my husband to hang it up so I can put my scarves on it, but I have yet to accomplish convincing him to do it. I find that if I just do it myself and it is wrong he will just fix it, I am about at that point :) But isn't this super cute??!! Thanks again Iris, BEST. SISTER. EVER!!!

Next, we have above our bed...Josh and I have been married almost five years and I have done nothing over the bed because I could never find anything I liked. THEN pinterest came along and I saw so many cute pics of things over the bed that gave me some ideas.....

I recruited some cute little helpers painting some frames from Hobby Lobby.....
Cade really thought he was painting....but really he didn't have any paint on his brush because we all know how that would turn out :)

And here is the finished product...I L-O-V-E it!!!

A closer view of some of the items, I have always wanted our wedding vows framed and I finally did it!! I got it done through an etsy website, jennasue. Iris also made me the "est 06-09-07" which fit perfect into my little design!!

Next we have a growth chart for the kids....I am SO excited about this one!! However, I have to give props to my man for making this for me.....I mean how beautiful is the etching in the wood??!! I LOVE it and it will be able to move with our family and continue to keep the measurements/growth of our family for years to come :) (I am still debating about painting it...I think I like the natural wood best)

Fun times at the Hebert House....

Cade checking out his new bike.... (and Brooks not happy about it, haha)

Cade didn't want to ride his new bike, so Brooks got to take a turn.

Fun in the sun.....

I attempted to lay out and get a little sun, but those days are over for a while.....I don't think I ever sat longer than a minute with these two wild boys!!

They thought splashing mommy was so funny....

Brooks loves to point right now....

Bathtime in the sink after dinner because he was so nasty from eating his white beans....

And of course big brother had to join in on the fun once he saw what Brooks was doing :)

Clothes basket racing....

Daddy and Cade took a ride in the boat in the neighborhood lake....Cade LOVED it and cried when Josh made him leave....I had to bring them another paddle so Cade could "help".

We have some new baby ducks in the pond....
